What to Wear App

UX Design, UI Design
The idea behind this virtual wardrobe app sets out to reimagine the conventional approach to managing your clothing collection. While numerous apps require users to painstakingly photograph each wardrobe item for outfit recommendations, this concept introduces a more innovative and efficient method.

In pursuit of this vision, the proposed approach involves accessing the user's photos to identify outfits, utilising date and geolocation data for tailored recommendations. Another option is to capture an image of the entire wardrobe, with the app's AI identifying all items. Additionally, the app could sync with Gmail to automatically include recent purchases.

Note: Users will always have the option to manually add items by tapping the "Skip" button.

A supplementary screen, presented once, aims to determine the user's preference for warm or cold weather attire, particularly relevant during the colder season.

To offer the most precise outfit recommendations, the app includes tabs for various occasions, such as work, dates, and nights out. Recommendations are tailored accordingly. Users can view outfit suggestions on a daily or weekly basis, with an extended view available for specific days of the week.

The outfit section neatly organises the user's wardrobe items by seasons, allowing for manual item additions at any time. In instances where the user makes a purchase, the app automatically retrieves data from Gmail and seamlessly integrates the new items into the Outfits section.

UI Design Approach

Regarding the user interface style, the focus is on achieving a sophisticated and sleek design. Two fonts have been selected, one of which is a Serif font, an unconventional choice for interfaces. This choice emphasises titles and adds a "fashion-oriented" touch. Similarly, the icons are designed with minimal strokes, ensuring seamless integration with the interface.

Although the app predominantly employs dark colours, the accent colour avoids bright tones. Instead, a colder hue with a green tint is chosen to keep the spotlight on outfit recommendations.
